The Swiss Yodlers of Sydney – founded in 1968 – are a collective of enthusiastic male and female Singers, who either “can yodel” or just enjoy singing traditional Swiss Song and Yodel Compositions from the “old home country Switzerland”.
The kaleidoscopic background and history of our members has served the Club, in its 50th year of existence, very well indeed. Passion and joy for singing are the essential ingredients in our Choir’s varied activities, which in the past included trips to Switzerland to participate at Swiss National “Eidg” and yodeling festivals in Schwyz, Burgdorf, Solothurn, St. Gallen, Sarnen, Aarau and Luzern.
Other performances on ABC Radio, SBS TV, Sydney Opera House and visits to Nth Qld, Melbourne, Canberra and Auckland simultaneously provide challenge, variety and reward for our efforts.
The choir strives to support charities, fundraising events and many other functions and engages with other Swiss Community Groups assisting and co-operating with their endeavours.
